VOLUNTEER

Volunteer NOW for the 2019 WFG Continental Cup in Las Vegas

January 17 – January 20, 2019 at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas.

Volunteer applications for the 2019 World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling are now being accepted.

The prestigious international curling event is scheduled for Jan. 17-20 at the Orleans Arena in the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas, with volunteers needing to be in Las Vegas by Jan. 16 by noon for mandatory training.

You can find out more about the benefits of volunteering, and you can submit your application, at volunteer.curling.ca/2019contcup.

The WFG Continental Cup brings together the best in curling from competitors, to spectators, to volunteers, becoming a community with one goal in mind: a great curling event.

"Over the past years of hosting curling events in Las Vegas, we have been honored to have volunteers come from all over the U.S., Canada and even Europe and Australia and they've become an amazingly loyal group", said Jon Killoran, longtime event organizer and Chief Executive Officer of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition. "Yet, we also have room to grow that great family of extraordinary volunteers and welcome new applicants as much as possible."

Positions are available in many volunteer areas: officials, stats and timers, media, the Patch, community events, ceremonies, hospitality events, 50/50 sales, medical, merchandising sales and many more.

Training will be required for all positions and  volunteers are welcome who share  a love of curling and the excitement of special events.

“Volunteers are the backbone of events – it is the value of these extra hands that enables organizations to offer activities that may not otherwise happen,” said Killoran. “Their meaningful contributions, both behind and in front of the scenes, are indispensable and their tireless efforts are often as profound as the event itself.”
