How’s this for a match-up?
At Skip, Jennifer Jones; with Chris Plys at third, Joanne Courtney at second and Geoff Walker playing lead … versus … Niklas Edin at skip; with Alina Paetz at third, Bobby Lammie at second and Sofia Mabergs throwing lead stones…..
Hypothetical? Yes. But totally possible when the coaches for Team North America and Team World bring out their blenders for the Team Scramble draws at the 2019 World Financial Group Continental Cup in Las Vegas.
Team Scramble is yet another new wrinkle for this event that instantly became the most unique curling championship in the world when first introduced in 2002 in Regina, SK, and continues to deliver the unexpected. Team Scramble is different from all previous scenarios like Mixed Doubles or Mixed Skins, as limitations are placed on how team members can be paired up.
(Check out the rules here for Team Scramble).
Add to this all of the glitter and excitement of the Curling Oasis, and you’ve got the makings of the best Vegas curling event ever staged. “We pride ourselves in giving the curling fan an experience that is unlike everywhere else they travel”, said Jon Killoran, event manager and CEO of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition. “From our unique Hit & Stay ticket option to the Pool-Patch to the craziness that abounds in the arena, it’s all part of what makes the Curling Oasis special. The new Team Scramble draws are going to take it to a whole new level”.
A complete draw schedule for Team Scramble and all other disciplines of the 2019 event will be sent to your inbox on October 16.
