LAS VEGAS INTRODUCES.....A 13th TEAM

First time in Las Vegas.  First time for more than 12 teams at a World Men's Curling Championship.

The World Curling Federation has announced that a 13th team will be added to the field for the 2018 World Men's Championship, March 31 to April 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For the fans, that means more value for the ticket dollar, says event manager Jon Killoran.  "Instead of the traditional 22 draws, fans will be treated to a guaranteed 25 draws, so the ticket that already delivers the best value in live championship sport gets even better".

Under this new format, a total of six teams will qualify for the playoff round, meaning the race to the end of the round robin should be furious, right down to the last rocks of the last draw.

The 13th team will be a representative of the World Curling Federation's Asian-Pacific region, increasing that region's total to three teams for 2018.

The World Men's Curling Championship will be staged at the Orleans Arena, a venue that has become the home of championship curling in America.
